We all carry battles no one else sees. Sometimes it’s the hidden pain, the silent struggles, and the unspoken battles that weigh heaviest on our hearts. Many of us smile on the outside while quietly breaking on the inside, forcing ourselves to “be okay” for everyone else.
She Cries is a poem for those moments; for anyone who has ever felt invisible in their pain yet longs for healing, hope, and the courage to keep going. If you’ve ever cried silent tears or carried loneliness in secret, may these words remind you that your story matters and that there is strength even in vulnerability.
Hopefully, it makes you feel… seen
*She Cries*
She cries
A silent cry that no one hears
A silent scream filled with all her bottled tears
She breaks
Under the weight of the burden she carries
She forces a smile filled with whispers of “I’m sorries”
She pretends
To be okay for everyone she knows
While she hides the parts of her she dares not show
She loses
Another piece of herself everyday
As she prays that one day she’ll be truly okay
She accepts it
The brokenness inside her
Embracing the loneliness that draws closer and closer
And so she cries
Herself to sleep at night
No one knows what she keeps hidden from sight
Closing Thoughts
We often think strength means never breaking, but true strength sometimes looks like surviving the silent battles no one else sees. She Cries speaks to the loneliness of carrying hidden pain, of putting on a smile while your soul quietly shatters. Many of us know what it’s like to “hold it together” for the world while falling apart inside, and this poem is a reminder—you are not alone in that struggle.
If these words echo your own unspoken cries, let them remind you that your pain does not make you weak—it makes you human. Healing begins when we stop pretending we’re fine and start allowing ourselves to be seen, even in our brokenness.
So, if you’ve been holding it all in, consider this your gentle invitation: reach out, share your truth with someone you trust, and take one small step toward letting light into the dark places. Because your tears, though silent, matter—and so do you.
