About Me

Hey, I’m Lis—your personal cheerleader for fighting back when life tries to knock you out. Poverty & abuse survivor, mom of 3 wild and wonderful boys, wife, Proverbs 31 woman, and author of the life-changing book Don’t Die Broke: Your step-by-step guide to the life you desire.

I didn’t come from glitter and gold. I came from grit. From scraped knees, sleepless nights, and prayers that sounded more like desperate whispers than bold declarations of faith. I’ve been broke, broken, and buried under the weight of a life I didn’t choose—but I clawed my way out. Not overnight. Not easily. But relentlessly.

There was a time I didn’t recognize myself. I was constantly in survival mode, mentally exhausted, and emotionally bruised. Depression had me by the throat, and hope felt like a luxury I couldn’t afford. It was so bad I tried to end it (twice). Thank God I failed!

Here’s the thing: one day, something inside me snapped—and not in the dramatic, throw-a-vase kind of way. It was quiet. It was a whisper: “This can’t be all there is.”

That whisper became a war cry.

I rebuilt my life brick by brick—starting with my mindset. Because the truth is, changing your circumstances doesn’t start with your bank account or zip code—it starts in your head. And once I got that? Game. Changer.

Now I help others do the same.

This blog is my love letter to anyone who’s ever felt stuck, unseen, or like they’re always fighting just to stay afloat. Here, I share the messy middle—the real, raw, unfiltered journey of what it takes to break generational patterns, design the life you crave, and wake up actually wanting to be here.

You’ll find personal stories that might punch you in the gut (in the best way), practical mindset tools, poetic soul-squeezers, and the occasional kick-in-the-pants motivation. I write like we’re sitting on my patio with a cup of tea (or a glass of wine—no judgement) talking about what it really means to become who you were meant to be.

I don’t have all the answers. But I do have scars, wisdom, and a deep belief that if I made it out of the pit, you can too.

If you like honest writing with a side of sass and a whole lot of heart—you’re home.

So, welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
